Our Sustainable Lifecycle Process
Des Plaines sits next to O'Hare, an established northwest suburb with post-war neighborhoods and a revitalizing downtown.
1. Repair & Refurbish
Our first priority is always extending the life of the machine. If a unit has potential to make a come back, our team fixes, cleans, and refurbishes it so it can be safely reused.
2. Harvest & Recycle Parts
If an appliance is beyond repair, we don't throw it away. We carefully dismantle the unit to salvage valuable functional components, electronics, and mechanical parts to keep other household appliances running.
3. Responsible Scrap Salvage
As a strict last resort, machines that are completely stripped or entirely unusable are broken down into raw commodities. We separate the metals and materials safely, selling them as scrap to local recycling facilities.
Appliance Pickup in Des Plaines: What to Know
Des Plaines' housing is largely post-war — brick ranches, Cape Cods and split-levels built for the O'Hare-era boom. Those homes have basements, and those basements have the aging freezers, washers and water heaters that keep local partners busy.
The city's proximity to O'Hare means lots of airline and airport-worker households with shifting schedules — partners here are used to flexible pickup windows, including evenings and weekends.
Des Plaines' refuse program requires advance scheduling and a fee for appliances. A partner pickup handles everything in one visit, on your schedule.
